Tylosaurus was a mosasur a very large predatory marine lizard which would have looked similar to a modern monitor lizard and snake. Tylosaurus lived in the Late Cretaceous era and its fossils were found in the area of Kansas. Tylosaurus as one of the largest mosasaurs was a dominant predator of the western interior seaway its stomach contents include fish, sharks, smaller mosasaurs, plesiosaurs and flightless diving birds.
