Megalosaurus means great lizard a large meat eating theropod from the middle Jurassic period, 166 million years ago of Southern England, Oxfordshire. It walked on stout back legs with a horizontal torso balanced by a horizontal tail it was very strong and had a heavily muscled body. Megalosaurus had a large head with long curved teeth, no complete skeleton has been found.
