Torosaurus was a herbivore that lived in North America during the Cretaceous era. The meaning of its name "perforated lizard" refers to the large holes in its neck frill. The head and neck frill measured 9.7 meters making it one of the largest of any land animal ever found. Recently paleontologists have suggested that Torosaurus is a mature triceratops.
