Saurophaganax means the Lizard Eating Master and lived about 146 to 156 million years ago at the same time and location as the Stegosaurus. It was a theropod and hence was a top meat eating predator.
Estimated at between 10.5 and 13 metres long and weighing in at 3 tonnes it would have been a very scary sight to see one running towards you!
